The BBC News app shows world news from BBC News in English, with picture and headline, in the style of the information displays at train stations and airports. You don't set up an address or a source.

What the app shows

The BBC News widget shows the newest stories with picture, headline, and teaser. Sports stories carry the section Sport, the others none. The header carries the original BBC News logo, and the background is almost black with red accents.

Templates, settings, and what happens without a network are the same for all news apps, see How the news apps work.

Sections

Under Section, choose Top stories, United Kingdom, World, Business, Health, or Technology. The default is Top stories.

Good to know

  • The stories stay in English, exactly as the BBC writes them. The words around them, such as Up next, appear in your organization's language.
  • Enter Exclude keywords in English, because the headlines are in English.
  • The pictures carry the credit Photo: BBC News, because the feed names no photographer.
  • Videos, audio items, and ads are left out.
