Staff information in the break room
Your team should see news, dates, and the shift plan without a printed notice.
- For
- companies, workshops, care homes, and anyone with a team on site
- Prerequisite
- an account in the portal. The Notice board and Calendar apps need the Pro package.
On this page
A display in the break room keeps your team informed: news from the management, upcoming dates, the shift plan, and a short line about what's new. Whoever is responsible updates it from the portal, and nobody needs to pin up paper.
What you need
| What | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| TV | A TV in landscape where people take their breaks |
| Device | A web display in the TV's browser today. A player once it can be ordered. |
| Package | Pro for the Notice board and Calendar apps |
| Apps | Notice board for announcements, Calendar for dates, Scrolling Text for short news |
How to set it up
- Create a scene for announcements with the Notice board, see Notice board.
- Add your team calendar in the Calendar app with its ICS address or straight from Outlook or Google Calendar, and show the next dates in a second scene, see Calendar.
- Put the shift plan in a scene as a PDF with the Document widget. Next week, upload the new PDF and swap it in, see Place a document (PDF) in a scene.
- Combine the scenes in a playlist, and add a Scrolling Text band for short news along the bottom of one scene.
- Assign the playlist to the display, and plan an off-air time when nobody is on site, see Schedule off-air time.
Tips from practice
- Let the right person edit. A team lead can get access to exactly one scene, such as the announcements, without seeing anything else, see Create custom roles and grant direct permissions.
- Dates come by themselves. The Calendar app reads your existing calendar, so nobody types appointments twice.
- Keep internal data internal. The display shows only what you put in Szenera. Pages that need a sign-in can't be shown, and that's good for confidential data.
