For
anyone who sets up a player on site. You don't need a keyboard or mouse.
Prerequisite
a player and a TV or monitor with a free HDMI input. To pair it, an account with the Owner or Manager role.
Where in the portal
at the TV on site · Displays › Pair display
On this page

Connect the player to the TV, the network, and power. About a minute later, the TV shows a six-character pairing code that you enter in the portal.

What you need

  • the player, its power supply, and the HDMI cable from the box
  • a TV or monitor with a free HDMI input
  • a network cable, or your Wi-Fi name and password and a smartphone
  • a computer or phone with access to the portal, for pairing

Where to put the player

  • Indoors in a dry room, behind the TV or on the wall, out of reach of visitors. Whoever can take the player also has its memory card.
  • Leave space for air around it. Don't cover it, and don't put it in a closed box.
  • Keep the power outlet within reach, because unplugging the power supply is how you switch the player off.

Steps

  1. Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI 0 socket next to the power connector and into the TV. Switch on the TV and select that HDMI input.
  2. If you use a network cable, plug it in now.
  3. Plug the power supply into the player and into the outlet. The player has no power switch and starts by itself. This takes about a minute.
  4. Without a network, the TV shows a setup card with a QR code. Set up the Wi-Fi as described in Connect to the network.
  5. The TV shows the pairing code. In the portal, open Displays, click Pair display, and enter the code, as described in Pair a display.

With a Player Pro, connect the second TV to the neighboring socket and add it as described in Player Pro.

Check the result

At the top of the TV, you see Connected, and in the middle the Pairing code with six characters. If the setup card with a QR code appears instead, everything is connected except the network.

Day to day

After pairing, you do everything in the portal. The player updates itself and keeps playing its stored content if the internet goes down. To switch it off, unplug the power supply, which is safe at any time. Clean it only when it is unplugged, with a dry cloth.

If something goes wrong

Symptom Cause Solution
The TV stays black The cable is in the wrong socket, the TV shows another input, or the player has no power. Use the HDMI 0 socket, select the right input on the TV, check the power supply, and wait a minute.
Six empty boxes instead of a code The player has no internet yet. Check the network cable or the Wi-Fi. The code appears as soon as the player is online.
The setup card keeps coming back The Wi-Fi password is wrong. Enter the Wi-Fi details again, see Connect to the network.
The picture stutters, and the portal reports Power supply throttling The power supply is too weak, or an extension cable is in between. Use the power supply that came with the player and plug it in directly.
The portal doesn't accept the code A typo, or the code has changed in the meantime. Enter the code that the TV shows right now.
