# Cloud folders for Microsoft OneDrive

This app connects your Microsoft OneDrive to the library. Your OneDrive folders then appear under **Places**, and you import single files or keep whole folders in sync instead of uploading them again. The steps are in [Files from OneDrive](/content/onedrive-places).

> **Type:** app
> **For:** organizations that keep their images and videos in OneDrive
> **Prerequisite:** the app installed
> **Where in the portal:** **Apps** › **Cloud folders for Microsoft OneDrive** › **Connected accounts**, and **Library** › **Places**

## What the app does

The app brings no widget. It adds **Places** to the library and the **Connected accounts** section to its own page. There you click **Connect Microsoft OneDrive** and sign in with Microsoft. Each connected account becomes a place of its own.

A connected account belongs to your organization, not to the person who connected it, so it stays when someone leaves your team. You can connect several accounts.

## Good to know

- The app only reads. It creates, changes, and deletes nothing in your OneDrive.
- A file reaches the displays only once it is imported. Imported files belong to your organization and stay, even if you delete them in OneDrive, disconnect the account, or uninstall the app.
- A synced folder is checked regularly, the first time within minutes after you switch it on.
- Displays play imported files even when OneDrive is unreachable.
- Work accounts may ask your IT administrator to approve the access first.

## If something goes wrong

| Symptom | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| **Places** is missing in the library | The app isn't installed. | Ask the Owner to install it. |
| The connection no longer works | Microsoft withdrew the access. | Click **Reconnect** and sign in with the same account. Imported files stay. |
| After signing in, a different account appears | You signed in with another Microsoft account. | Sign in with the account you want to repair, or connect the new one as an account of its own. |
| The portal says the process has expired | Too much time passed during sign-in. | Start connecting again. |
